About Rob McCullough
“Razor” Rob McCullough is a 15-year veteran of combat sports and has competed on major stages such as Bellator, World Extreme Cage Fighting (W.E.C), King of the Cage, and the World Fighting Alliance.
Razor has trained overseas in Thailand in Muay Thai kickboxing and is a decorated Muay Thai kickboxing champion holding International, U.S., and California state titles. Rob held the title of the Pit Fighting Champion in a one-night eight-man tournament. Razor has an impressive Muay Thai record of 10-1 and an MMA record of 19-8.
Despite a decorated martial arts career, many of Rob’s achievements have been in his personal life. Rob was born in Huntington Beach, CA in 1977. He has 7 siblings, 6 sisters and 1 brother. At the age of 11, Robs parents divorced and life started to become a bit challenging. He attended 3 middle schools and 4 high-schools. For a fresh start he lived with his sister in Alaska for a short amount of time, but eventually came back to California. This is when gangs and trouble started to surface. Robs nephews were members of an L.A. gang but they lived in Orange County making them constantly worried about walking around with targets on their backs. Rob continued to bounce around from home to home, living with different family members and even in hotels, but he always felt he was a burden to his mother who had many health challenges. At the age of 14 he ended up running away back to Huntington Beach and started a “couch tour” with friends throughout his high school years. It was during this time he found his passion at a local gym; LA Boxing and his martial arts career began.
Rob is also a father to two amazing boys, and he refers to them the greatest achievements of his life. Despite the difficult times he has endured Razor has been able to overcome hardships by finding his passion, showing up daily, putting in the hard work and remaining dedicated. Another of Robs passions is by giving back to his community. He has worked on multiple anti-bullying campaigns partnering with local schools to speak to students about bullying. It is on this platform Rob is able share his story and his love for martial arts to inspire at risk youth.
Rob’s career has allowed him opportunities he never thought possible. He has been an international businessman and a Master Trainer for UFC GYM. He has traveled the world as well as ran a successful martial arts training business for over 26 years. He was the assistant coach on seasons 11 and 14 of the Ultimate Fighter reality TV show. Rob has been the Head Trainer at HB Ultimate Training Center in Huntington Beach, CA and is a long-time stand-up coach for Tito Ortiz and many new up and coming MMA fighters. Traveling the world has been a highlight for Razor as both a participant and trainer, training with many world champions in Mixed Martial Arts including Ricco Rodriguez, Kevin Randelman, Tito Ortiz, Josh Thomson, and Quentin Rampage Jackson. He has published the Razor Muay Thai Instructional video for MMA training which remains one the best-selling MMA training series of all time. He is currently developing Razor Striking System which is a comprehensive striking training program and hopes to spread this worldwide.
